I chose this as a topic because my whole motivation for learning more about technology was to be able to help my students learn more about it and to use it in school and/or in their daily life.
Please feel free to explore this webpage for more info. concerning this topic.

I especially liked this statement:
The technology environment of today's public schools should match the tools and approaches of the work and civic life that students will encounter after graduation. This will ensure that schools stay relevant to today's students, as well as equip them for success in life after school.

Hi Karla, Being a CTE teacher, I agree with you that a large part of our job is preparing student for the world of work. Technology equipment etc, can be so expensive it is hard for schools to keep up with the new advances and have what is needed to teach students, so they will be well prepared. I am still using an overhead projector in my classroom.
Hi Karla,
I hope your kids enjoy working on the computers. Do they enjoy it? Do they understand the importance of having computer skills?
Debbie
Hi Karla,
Like Mary, we are slowly moving toward an advanced technological school. By the time many schools get "caught up", the "new" technology is considered obsolete. Will we ever catch up? I'm so tired of my old overhead!!!!
